- You do not need to bring anything. No swimsuit, no towel. Each of our Float Suites has a private luxury shower and dressing area. Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, earplugs and plush towels are provided.
- You many want to bring a comb and contact lens case.
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first session. We will begin with a short instructional video about floating.
- Float Factor features an ADA compliant Float Suite with ample room for wheelchair access. Our Evolution float chambers have a widened ledge allowing easy accessibility. Many clients with movement restrictions find these features helpful.
- You are in control of your float and can customize your session with lighting and music.
- The float chamber is automatically cleaned and disinfected after each use and will be pristine for every client.
- Our prep room is equipped with blow dryers, lotions, Q-tips, contact lens solution and other amenities.
- After your float we invite you to relax, rehydrate and reengage in our Serenity Room.

- Avoid caffeine at least four hours prior to your float.
- Do not shave, wax or tan on the day of your float. The high salt content of the water can be irritating to freshly shaved, waxed or tanned skin. Vaseline is provided in each float suite to cover small skin abrasions.
- Eat a light meal or snack 1 to 2 hours prior to your float. You do not want to be hungry (or uncomfortably full) during the float.
- Upon entering the private Float Suite, you will rinse off in a warm shower. Do not use any products on your hair or skin.
- Climb into the chamber and lie back gently. The buoyancy will lift you up so you can completely relax your body. The water in the space is heated to skin temperature and contains about 1000 pounds of Epsom salt, which allows you to float effortlessly on the surface.
- Music will begin when you enter the chamber. Clients have the option of listening to music throughout their float or turning the music off.
- Your mind will want to ‘fill the silence’ with thoughts. This happens to everyone, especially at first. Allowing the thoughts to pass by rather than becoming frustrated or attached will help shift your brain to a more relaxed and peaceful state. You may not notice this shift until after your float session is complete.
- Our chambers are well-ventilated, comfortable and easy to open. Since you are in a private suite, you can float with the pod open or partially open if you like, although you may become chilled if you do this for the entire session.
- If you get salt in your eyes there is a bottle of pure water within easy reach inside the chamber.
- During the last 5 minutes of the session you will hear a voice recording letting you know your session is over and the light will come on.
- After exiting the float chamber, thoroughly rinse off all salty water and rinse your ears thoroughly. Epsom salt is wonderful for your skin and hair, making it soft and silky, and with no pruning or wrinkling!
- Please try to vacate the room within 10 minutes of your float as we need to prepare the room for the next client. You may use our prep room to blow dry hair, apply makeup, etc.
- Relax and enjoy some purified water or herbal tea after your float in our Serenity Room.
